Overview & Reviews
Lexus has introduced a completely redesigned ES 300 for 2002. The new car is roomier and quieter than the previous car, and in many ways has become more closely aligned with the LS 430 flagship model. Safety and feature quotients have been increased, and the car is wrapped in a svelte new body.
- Nice array of luxury and convenience features, strong and silent V6, advanced safety technology.
- Many of the desired features are optional and expensive.

Love my ES-300 - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Donn - September 22 - 10:00 amIve only had it for one week. This is a great car. I purchased the fully- loaded, Mark Levinson sound and Navigation package. Quiet and smooth driving. A pleasure to drive. Although it seems to have the same engine as the Toyota Avalon, which takes 87-octane gas, the ES-300 requires 91-octane gas, but I dont know why. But this is a minor matter. Im very happy with this car.

Its so easy to love a Lexus - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Jack - August 19 - 3:30 amIve owned Audis, BMWs, Saabs, and many Japenese and American cars and by far this is the best car I have ever owned. Its also my second Lexus with the first having been a 98 that still ran perfect at 160,000 miles when I traded her. Sure there is some truth about the drive-by-wire delay but its ever so slight and I got used to it within a day and Im about as fickle at they come. I urge anyone who wants sportiness, reliability, luxury, and just plain old grinning ear to ear every time they get behind the wheel to buy a Lexus ES. You cant go wrong with a used Lexus either as they present one hell of a value.

2002 - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Texas83 - March 7 - 10:00 amThe transmission on this thing is a piece of junk. I cant believe that Lexus would put out something so poorly tested. Its so sad, because I like everything else about the car. It has many great features, but the reliability of the transmission is terrible, even dangerous. Lexus has promised over and over again that they will fix it, but so many promises have turned into so many lies.

2002 ES300 - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Dwayne - February 21 - 10:00 amTruely a wonderful car mid luxury car, but it needs more power. That is the only thing that detracts from its "fun to drive" score. Interior is very comfortable and the Nav system is great. Except for power it is a very major improvement over the previous model.

Creme de la Creme of its Class! - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Lexus50 - January 3 - 10:00 amI recently purchased a 2002 Lexus ES 300 with the Navigation Package. This was my first dealing with a luxury dealership, and I can definitely say the experience _much_ more pleasant than with other manufacturers. Overall the car is superb. The new exterior styling compliments the stunning interior. The Lexus DVD Navigation system really gives the car a hi-tech feel, and the suspension absorbs nearly all the bumps the road can throw at you.

Impressive Ride & Luxury - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By BKB - December 17 - 10:00 amI have been very pleased with the car and the dealership service. I had also bought my wifes RX300 from the same dealership, Sterling McCall in Houston, TX. It have very please and it exudes pure luxury. Also, while it is not sporty like a BMW, etc. it is plenty fun to drive around town. It will make you question the justification for the higher prices of the BMW 5-Series and Mercedes E-Class can be so much more expensive. I have not had any of the transmission problems mentioned on the message boards.

Dont be mis-out: Great Car - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Dallas_Best - August 28 - 10:00 amOK, so it doesnt look like a Mini or an LS430, but this is by far the most car you can get for the money. Let me specify: -Luxury, pure and real (real wood, real leather, real technology) -Ride and comfort- can not beat under $35K -Reliability - you get a million dollar service plan for under $35K -safety - side, front airbags, safety cage, sensors, all standard. This just cant be beat. If you want a sportier car with more horses, try the GS line. But for a commuter, this is the one. I paid $31,800 for the premium package model in white with window tinting.

Want more Hourse Power? - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Hourse Power - August 28 - 10:00 amMost of the negative feed back has been about the transmition and hourse power...If you want the handling and luxury of the ES300 but with a flaless transmition and a lot more power check out the Infiniti I-35 (255HP 246 ft- lbs) and it costs thousands less! Thats what I did and I dont regret a thing!

I like it! - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Valeriy - July 2 - 10:00 amNo problems yet. I am tall, so, it could be bigger. Also rear spoilers should be good for the car.

My Lexso - 2002 Lexus ES 300
By Robert Smith - June 23 - 2:16 pmIm completely satisfied this vehicle, though Ive only owned it for a short time. The ride is so smooth and enjoyable, the cabin is quiet and comfortable. I test drove many luxury cars before deciding on my ES300 but none could compare nor do they rate as high.
